First off, I must let you guys know that the first song that got me to like Wiz was "Crazy Since The 80's" from his album Show and Prove. Been listening to him for about 2 years. My favorite mixtape from him would have to be Flight School. Just a little background of what I'm used to.
When I'm Gone: The piano intro is beautiful, I love it. The first line he says is great too, at least he's living up to him practically rapping about the same thing. Overall, the lyrics are witty and the beat transitions well from the piano. The hook kinda ruined it for me, but it's tolerable. 4 stars
On My Level: Love it. Plain and simple. Great beat and gives a great vibe. He also picks an O.G. as a feature. 5 stars
Black & Yellow: When he first released this song I loved it, great beat and catchy lyrics, but as you all may know, people and the radio killed it so I can't really stand it anymore. Kinda old to be on the album too. 4 stars
Roll Up: Maybe it's just me, but I hate this song. I guess I need to be a girl to enjoy it. Way too poppy from the songs I'm used to hearing him make. 1 star
Hopes & Dreams: Nice smooth beat, lyrics are OK, but once I heard the hook..another poppy vibe from this song. The hook is the only thing I dislike about this song. 3 stars
Wake Up: Eh, another slow poppy song. I can tolerate it though. Lyrics aren't that great. 2 stars
The Race: Great mellow song. Reminds me of something that would be on his "How Fly" mixtape with Curren$y. The lyrics are great too. Hook is ok, little poppy, but it fits. 5 stars
Star Of The Show: Surprised he put this song on his album, it's pretty old to me. I like it, the lyrics are ok and the beat is nice to vibe to. The hook is nice too. 3 stars
No Sleep: I first heard this song and didn't like it. A few more listens and it definitely got the best of me. I love this song. Very poppy though, I love the hook too. This is more of an upbeat poppy song so that makes it better. 4 stars
Get Your Shit: Another girl song. Can't seem to enjoy this song either. Again, it's just me, can't stand this song. 1 star
Top Floor: -.- hate hate hate annoying. I don't know what wiz was on when he made this song, maybe some nasty regs. Annoying baby thing in the back, way toooooo poppy. The hook is HORRIBLE. Can't stand this song! 1 star
Fly Solo: Again, a pretty old song. It's a great song to play in the car with a bunch of girls and friends or at the beach having a great time. Nothing I'd really listen to on my own though. It's catchy though. 3 stars
Rooftops: Possibly my favorite song on the album. Been on replay ever since I got it. Beat is amazing, Wiz's verse is awesome, Curren$y is on it..Great song. Hook is great. Everything about this song I love. 5 stars
Cameras: Another old song, it was named "Know Your Name", if I'm not mistaken. I like this song, just old for me. 4 stars
Okay so overall I give this album a sold 3 stars. It has the loves and the hates. I know he's very diverse, I've already realized that he can be very different, but that doesn't make up for making shit like Top Floor. I know he may be into the little fame but I know he's just in a little phase, he will change again like he's done before. Wiz still remains to be my favorite artist.
